多倫多擊劍學會一覽 Toronto fencing clubs

劍擊運動起源自古埃及，用點到即止的規範來比試劍上功夫，大大減少不必要的傷亡。經過長時間發展和演變，現代劍擊可分為Foil花劍、Epee重劍及Sabre佩劍此三項。花劍通常是劍擊入門的第一步，用的劍最輕，得分點又集中，只要用劍刺中對手的身體軀幹部份便可得分，但刺中頭、手和腳都無效。重劍比較真實，全身都是得分點，只要刺中對手身體任何部位都可得分，如果雙方同時間刺中對方時，則雙方同時得分。是源自中世紀的騎士佩劍，有別於花劍和重劍只可用刺來得分，佩劍除了可以用刺之外，還可以用斬。由於源自騎士武器，得分區只限於腰以上，包括頭部。

劍擊運動吸引人的地方，是通過靈活的身手，敏捷的反應，清晰的頭腦，在一瞬間作出判斷，是攻是守，是進是退，是誘敵還是強攻，變化多端。加上成熟的遊戲規則和安全設備，令整項運動充滿樂趣。

劍擊運動在加拿大也逐漸流行起來，除了多間大學有各自的劍擊隊之外，多家本地華裔劍擊會也成立起來，為不同族裔，不同年齡階層，對劍擊有興趣人士提供學習機會。成績更是有目共睹，學員有實力代表加國出戰不同類型的大型賽事，包括奧運。

要體驗一下這項既優雅又刺激的運動，現在簡單得多，這些劍擊學會都提供很多初級班給不同年紀學生報學，由小學生到退休人士都可參加。學費通常包括基本器材的使用在內，絕對值得一試。

The club has four locations, – Wychwood (St. Clair Ave. W. & Christie), High Park (Bloor & Runnymede), Greek Town (Danforth & Broadview) and the Beaches (Queen & Glen Manor)
